• About

My name is Lucia Walker, and I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been working in the field of mental health for over 10 years with experience working with children, adults, and families.  I have master’s degree in social work from University of Missouri, and a master’s degree in criminal justice from Washburn University. I also have a precision nutrition certification, and offer nutrition training, because I believe nutrition and physical health are also important in achieving good mental health.

I have experience working with individuals of various mental health needs and have worked with both adults and children who suffer from various mental illness such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, adjustment disorders and autism.

I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings with people of diverse backgrounds and culture.  I love diversity and culture among people, and I believe that stems from my own background, growing up with Brazilian-German parents, and traveling to many different countries and experiencing other cultures firsthand.

Now I serve people as a mental health therapist, and the therapeutic approaches I use are cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based therapy, and EMDR therapy as my main approaches.  I take a holistic approach to therapy, understanding how important the mind, body, and spirit are in becoming well.

I’m glad you stopped in at my website, and please feel free to explore my site and enjoy my blog. If you feel I could be of service to you, please fill out the contact form and we can set up a free consultation. I look forward to serving you in the best way I can.
